Questions, requests or complaints about personal information go to our person in charge of the protection of personal information at hello@charlandandco.com. (A named individual may be designated later; this address will reach them.)

What we collect

• Server logs: our host automatically records technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of visit, for security and operation.
• Messages you send us: if you email us, we keep your email address and message to reply.
• Analytics: we do not currently use any analytics service. If we add one, we will update this policy first.
• Calculator inputs: numbers you enter in calculators are processed in your browser and are not sent to us.
• Affiliate and advertising cookies: none are set today. When affiliate links (e.g. Amazon Associates) or display ads (e.g. Google AdSense) are enabled later, those partners may set cookies or similar technologies.

Cookies and consent

We do not collect tracking or advertising cookies at this time. Before any tracking, profiling or advertising cookie is used, we will show a consent banner and only enable such technologies if you opt in, as required by Quebec's Law 25, Canada's PIPEDA (where it applies), and other applicable laws. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Why we use it

To operate, secure and improve the site, respond to messages, and (once enabled and consented) measure affiliate referrals and show ads.

Retention

Server logs are kept only as long as our host retains them for security and operations. Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted. We destroy or anonymize information once its purpose is fulfilled.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share data only with service providers needed to run the site (such as our host) or when required by law.

Where your information is stored

Hostinger (web hosting). Our website is hosted by Hostinger on servers in Malaysia. Information you send us or that our server records (such as your IP address) may therefore be stored and processed outside Quebec and Canada, where privacy laws may differ. We take reasonable steps to protect it.

Your rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw consent, or ask how it is used. California residents may exercise CCPA/CPRA rights, including the right to opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information. Email hello@charlandandco.com; we will reply within 30 days. Quebec residents may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Age

This site is intended for adults 18+ and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
